For years, the central atrium of this classic Eichler home was simply a plant-filled, walk-through space. Although a great source of natural light for much of the house, the atrium made it harder to keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
With its new retractable roof, the atrium has become a favorite spot to unwind and entertain. The family feels like they’ve added 300 sq. feet to their home. Sun still streams in, but now the rain stays out and the family stays dry. Plus, the roof has reduced sun damage and improved temperature control in the house.
